Thalidomide is an immunomodulatory agent, prescribed for erythema nodosum leprosum and multiple myeloma. Thalix operates on the immune system to decrease certain substances that cause skin inflammation.

It is used with dexamethasone to treat Multiple Myeloma in people who have been recently observed to have this disease. It is also applied alone or with other medicines to treat and prevent skin symptoms of erythema nodosum leprosum (ENL).
