Nucoxia 90 mg (Etoricoxib Tablets)
Nucoxia 90 (Etoricoxib 90mg) is used to treat the pain and swelling due to diseases affecting the muscles, joints and tendons, like strains, gout, ankylosing spondylitis or arthritis as well as mild to moderate pain during dental operations.
Nucoxia 90 belongs to a group of medication called non-st***al anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by inhibiting the release of prostaglandins, which are pain causing chemicals specifically at the site of inflammation in the body.

Do not take etoricoxib, if you are allergic to etoricoxib or COX-2 inhibitors Consult your doctor before taking etoricoxib.
• If you had have a history of stomach ulcers and bleeding.
•If you are above 65 years of age.
•If you are have diabetes or high cholesterol or you smoke.
Women who are pregnant or breast feeding should consult the doctor before taking this medication.

Etoricoxib is not approved by the FDA and is not marketed in Canada. It is not banned in India and is available here.
Arcoxia is the brand name for etoricoxib. It cannot be taken for migraine/headache/toothache. It is recommended for post-operative dental surgery pain. It should be taken only if prescribed by the doctor. Arcoxia should be taken only as long as the doctor prescribes it.
Nucoxia 90 should not be taken with other pain-relieving medicines belonging to non-st***al anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) class like ibuprofen/ / naproxen / Panadol (paracetamol)/ /Celebrex (celecoxib)/ aspirin, as it increases the risk of stomach ulcers and bleeding. Etoricoxib should not be taken with blood-thinning medication like warfarin, as it increases the risk of bleeding from areas such as ulcers in the stomach or gut. Etoricoxib may be often prescribed with strong pain-killers like tramadol for severe pain. There is no data showing serious interactions between colchicine, antibiotics (e.g. rifampicin, streptomycin) and etoricoxib. Any drug combination with etoricoxib should be taken only as per instructions from the doctor.
Etoricoxib is safe when taken for an indication and at the dosage prescribed by the doctor.
There are no studies in pregnant or breast feeding women showing safety of this drug. Animal studies show that it may cause reproductive toxicity, and also excretion in breast milk. Follow the doctor’s instructions clearly for use of nucoxia 90 in pregnancy or during breast-feeding.
