Fluorometholone belongs to a group of medicines called synthetic corticost**d (glucocorticoid). FML Eye drops binds to its receptors and controls the production of certain chemicals that mediate Inflammation in the body, thereby inhibiting the inflammatory reactions (such as swelling, fibrin [type of protein involved in clotting process] deposition, capillary dilatation, phagocyte [large white blood cells that can swallow and digest microbes and other foreign particles] migration).
